After relaxing and roaming around Lisbon for the past week we hopped a very short plane ride to Barcelona. This was one of my most favorite European cities. There was so much to see, do, and eat! We got our fill of architecture, art, tapas, and wine.
Continent number six! Our last leg of the trip. Having just spent about six weeks in Africa running around non stop we arrived in Lisbon exhausted. We had an amazing Airbnb with a huge couch with two separate bedrooms and we spent the first full day just relaxing. We were both in need of some alone time.
The nine month adventure has come to an end. I am both sad and excited to be home. My guess is the excitement will wear off quickly and I will want to be back on the road again.
Since I am an accounting nerd her is a little recap of how we saved money on this trip.
We decided to go to Senegal based on a DNA test. Earlier last year Tim and I did the ancestry DNA test. Surprise surprise I am like 98% European (mostly Germany). Tim found out that he had matches in Western Africa. One of the areas being Senegal. So we decided to visit Dakar, Senegal for our last stop in Africa. This was a much different stop than our previous countries in Africa.
Our next stop in Africa was Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls to be exact. Victoria Falls sits on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. You can visit both countries and get different views of the falls. We decided to stay in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe for the week because we heard the views and the city was more active.
We leave tomorrow and have been doing a lot of practice packing and wrapping things up around here. Take a look at some of the stuff we're going to be lugging around!
"You finish up a report that you know no one’s going to give a serious look. You check out some memes that validate that you’re not alone, your friends hate their jobs too, so this is normal, even the ones who really like their job have gotten into the societal habit of bitching for bitching’s sake. Why do we do this to ourselves?"
